Overview

Responsible for the accurate and timely accounting for all cash transactions; preparing bank reconciliations, journal entries, and general ledger account workpapers.

Duties and Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

  1. Review, record, and reconcile daily transactions related to high volume of cash activity. (40%)
  2. Ensure bank reconciliations are prepared for all cash accounts on a monthly basis and reconcile the operating and payroll cash accounts daily. Monitor cashed checks, clear checks in Banner, and maintain outstanding check lists. (30%)
  3. Prepare various non-cash general ledger account reconciliations on a monthly basis. Prepare spreadsheets to show evidence of reconciliations and provide supporting documentation for reconciled balances. (15%)
  4. Assist in the month-end and year-end close process. (5%)
  5. Provide back-up support to other general accounting staff as needed. (5%)
  6. Assist with special projects. (5%)



MARGINAL DUTIES:

1. Perform all other duties as may be required

Education and Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting from an accredited institution required
  • Two to three years of experience in accounting or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Strong technical accounting skills
  • Strong knowledge of financial accounting systems
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills with an emphasis on accuracy
