The Entertainment and Production Technician is directly responsible
for providing technical and operational support for productions and
events at Gleason Performing Arts Center, including maintaining,
supporting and developing the Gleason Performing Arts Center
facilities and equipment. This position manages all aspects of
production required for events or classes in Gleason Performing
Arts Center, including the development and documentation of
requirements, understanding of customers' needs, and overall
coordination for customer expectations.
The Entertainment and Production Technician provides support and equipment as required for the success of events throughout the university campus. Ensures the setup, storage, operation and maintenance of event production equipment.
This position caters to a wide variety of A/V event technology and support requests utilizing many different fields of knowledge in technical production equipment, software and techniques. This position serves as a consultant to other university departments to assess and recommend video, audio, and other production requirements for various spaces and special events, including classrooms.

Annual Security & Fire Safety Report
The federal Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act (Clery Act) requires colleges and universities, both public and private, participating in federal student aid programs to disclose campus safety information and impose certain basic requirements for handling incidents of sexual violence and emergency situations.
Florida Tech’s 2024 Annual Security and Fire Safety Report includes statistics for the previous three years concerning reported crimes that occurred on campus, in certain off-campus buildings or property owned or controlled by Florida Tech, and on public property within, or immediately adjacent to and accessible from, the campus.
The numbers provided include crime statistics reported to local law enforcement agencies, campus security and other Campus Security Authorities.
The report also includes institutional policy statements regarding campus safety and security measures, descriptions of prevention and awareness programs, related university procedures and important guidance, and other essential safety information.

Official transcripts of all collegiate work must be sent directly from the attended institution to the Office of Human Resources prior to the first day of employment. All international degrees must have a course-by-course official evaluation and translation sent to the Human Resources Office directly from an evaluation company affiliated with the National Association of Credential Evaluation Services, Inc. (NACES).

- Manage technical operations and resources at Gleason Performing
Arts Center to ensure high production quality and safety
standards.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to determine technical
requirements for productions and events, including lighting, sound,
staging, video, and special effects.
- Provide support to the production team to ensure smooth and
efficient production processes.
- Maintain coaching and development programs for student and
staff employees on policies, procedures, technology, and equipment
at Gleason Performing Arts Center.
- Stay informed about industry trends and technological
advancements, providing input for potential upgrades and
improvements.
- Coordinates with staff and student employees to ensure support
for campus events and special projects.
- Assist with recommendations for purchasing and maintaining
production equipment at Gleason Performing Arts Center.
- Contribute ideas and solutions to technical or operational
challenges to support the overall vision of Gleason.
- Demonstrate knowledge of equipment needs to assist in managing
shows and events, including sound, lighting, rigging, video, and
general production equipment.
- Contribute to Florida Tech’s team effort by accomplishing other
duties as assigned.
- Preferred – Bachelor’s degree in a related field
- Minimum 2–5 years of experience required in area of
expertise
- Demonstrated ability of technical and operational event
support
- Strong customer service skills
- Extensive knowledge of production technology including, but not
limited to: sound, lighting, rigging, and video
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
- Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects and tasks
and work independently with little supervision
- Candidates need to have a degree of technical experience to
effectively fulfill the duties of the position. Must be able to
make decisions independently in regard to various events and event
support.
- Must be a self-starter in providing technical support, solving
day-of-event problems, and overseeing the student staff team
assigned to each specific event.
- Extensive knowledge and ability in theatrical and production
software
- Ability to interact professionally and effectively across all
levels of an organization to conduct training sessions and resolve
technical support issues
- Knowledge of digital and social media management, including
video recording and streaming
- Ability to lead staff
- Ability to read, interpret, and apply technical
documentation
- Perform job duties with the utmost integrity and adherence to
institutional policy
