The position of Cook, 40 hours per week, 12-month, year-round position reporting to the Paresky Operations Manager is available. The initial schedule will be Sunday through Thursday 6:00 am - 2:30 pm with Friday and Saturday off, and could include overtime as required. Schedules are subject to change based on the needs of the department and may vary to include, evenings, weekends and holidays as needed.
Working under the daily supervision of the First and Second Cooks, the cook will be responsible for assisting with food preparation, safe food preparation/handling and service. The primary focus of this position is the creating, preparing and serving food of the highest quality.
Responsibilities
- Oversee the overall function of the kitchen to ensure accuracy
in food allergens, food quality, preparation, temperatures, tastes,
appearance and garnishing.
- Maintain the overall sanitation of kitchen, equipment, and
storage areas.
- Follow pre-established menus and recipes.
- Ensure allergen labels are accurate and accessible.
Qualifications
- A minimum of two years of relevant kitchen experience is
required, with general knowledge of food service
preferred.
- The position requires basic math skills, scheduling
flexibility, the ability to stand for extended periods, and the
capability to lift objects weighing up to 40 pounds, including
overhead placement on shelves up to 5 feet.
- Candidates must have or be willing to obtain ServeSafe and
Allergen Awareness certifications.
- Experience in a customer-oriented environment is essential,
along with the ability to understand and follow recipes while
maintaining mobility and stamina to perform tasks in a fast-paced
workspace.
Application review will begin on January 6, 2025, and will continue until the position is filled. Pay starts at $24.00 per hour, commensurate with experience.
