The Integrated Media Department at Gonzaga University in Spokane, WA. invites applications for a fixed-term, renewable Lecturer position beginning Fall 2025. Expectations include teaching undergraduate courses (4/4 load) in public relations including, but not limited to, public relations principles and theories, public relations writing, public relations speech writing and delivery, and strategic communication. Ability to teach the department introductory course, Media Literacy, and/or Journalistic Writing is desirable.

Required Qualifications:

  • MA, MS, MFA, MBA, or PhD in public relations, media studies, communication, strategic communications, business administration, or a related field Course development and teaching experience in public relations or a similar discipline (strategic communication, media writing, etc.) At least one year of teaching or teaching assistant experience at the undergraduate level

Desired Qualifications:

  • Ability to teach department’s entry-level course in Media Literacy and/or Journalistic Writing Experience mentoring students from underrepresented backgrounds.

Job Duties:

  • Teach four courses per semester (equivalent of 12 credits) with topics including, but not limited to, public relations principles and theories, public relations writing, public relations speech writing and delivery, and strategic communication.  Attend regular departmental and campus-wide meetings. Academic advising, starting in the second year.
