About the Opportunity

Responsibilities:
The World Languages Center seeks to fill a non-tenure track job opening for an Assistant Teaching Professor, Associate Teaching Professor, or Full Teaching Professor of Arabic. Duties include a teaching load of six courses for the academic year (three courses in each semester) and ongoing curricular and pedagogical innovation. Professional development and service are also expected. This is a renewable and benefits-eligible position, with an expected start date of Fall 2025.
This position will support the University's commitment to innovation in teaching as well as the World Languages Center's vision of developing students' intercultural communicative competence. Candidates should demonstrate commitment to fostering diverse and inclusive environments as well as to promoting experiential learning, which are central to a Northeastern University education.
Qualifications:
- Ph.D. in Arabic applied linguistics or a related field in hand by the employment start date is required.
- The successful applicant should be well prepared to teach Arabic language/culture classes at all levels of the curriculum, have experience teaching Arabic in remote and/or online formats, and possess native or near-native proficiency in Arabic.
