Description
Los Angeles City College Foundation is
seeking a new Executive Director to lead and manage the
organization, collaborate with the Board of Directors and President
of the College, as well as safeguard LACCF’s continued financial
and operational health. LACCF has an outstanding leadership
team and dedicated staff making this a fantastic opportunity for an
experienced leader to support an established foundation and steward
the organization for ongoing success and excellence. LACCF’s
entrepreneurial leadership aspires to significantly grow the
endowment through multiple verticals; and welcomes the opportunity
to appoint an Executive Director who serves and embodies the vital
mission of diversity and inclusion.
Founded in 1968, LACCF is a non-profit
corporation 501(c)3, providing scholarships, grants, and funds for
special programs to enhance the educational opportunities for a
highly diverse student population with an operational budget over
$1.5MM annually. During the last decade, LACCF’s net assets
have grown from $7MM to $44MM.
Key
Responsibilities
Strategic Planning
& Leadership: Organize a diverse set of
stakeholders, including LACCF staff, Board of Directors, College
President & faculty as well as local government and businesses
to set the strategic direction for LACCF. Candidate will be
passionate, creative and committed to helping the students of LACCF
and the organization’s mission. Able to balance and integrate
scholastic, political and financial strategy – both short and long
term. The next Executive Director will join with stakeholders
currently engaged in a strategic planning process to further align
the direction and priorities of LACCF. Requires proven
executive level relationship management.
Financial
Management: Experienced and knowledgeable
with financial management, budgeting and administration.
Ability to oversee operational budgets, provide reporting,
supervise accounting, audit & investment firms for compliance
with applicable laws and regulations. Responsible for managing
preparation and presentation of financial reporting to
stakeholders.
Fundraising: Coordinate
development staff, lead significant fundraising for organizational
budget and support network organizations and encourage board
members in their fundraising. Advise and elevate fundraising
strategy and serve as a major pitch-maker and relationship builder
with individual and institutional donors to expand and diversify
funding sources. Experience with galas and major fundraising
activities.
Community
Development: Savvy relationship builder with
local government and business organizations including, the Mayor’s
office, County Supervisor, City Council Offices, State Senator,
State Assembly, East Hollywood Neighborhood Council, East Hollywood
Business Improvement District, Hollywood Chamber of Commerce, and
the Swap Meet.
Collegial Work
Environment: Develops and directs
relationships with donors, staff, board, college, media, and other
stakeholders. Knows how to delegate, share power, motivate staff
and instill a culture of ingenuity and productivity. The Executive
Director represents the tone, culture and values ensuring an
environment of growth and support, while supervising human capital
and administering human resource policies.

a large, high-impact scholastic organization, and guiding
leadership in a collaborative manner. Attend all meetings of
the Board, Executive, Finance and all other Committees in a
non-voting capacity.
Reports
To: Los Angeles City College Foundation,
Board of Directors
Supervises: Eight (8)
full-time employees of the LACCF and contract service
providers.
Travel: This position may
require travel to conferences, team building and other events for
development.
Education: Bachelor’s degree
required; bilingual or multilingual a plus; advanced degree and/or
CFRE preferred.
Total
Compensation
Salary: $225,000 per
year.

Location: This is a
full-time position based out of the LACCF’s office on the Los
Angeles City College Campus, with a flexible nonetheless demanding
work schedule. All positions are remote until further notice
due to COVID-19. Moving reimbursements may be offered to
candidates relocating to Los Angeles, California for this
position.
