Indiana Tech is seeking Adjunct Faculty in our Fort Wayne area and online platform. The successful candidate will teach in-person, online, and blended classes at our Fort Wayne campus, primarily in the undergraduate program and certificate programs. Types of courses to be taught include Accounting Principles, Managerial Accounting, Intermediate Accounting, and / or Advanced Accounting.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Teach one or more courses in accordance with course competencies and syllabi.
- Conduct a one-hour live lecture (Tech Live/ Big Blue Button) each week of the course.
- Grade all assignments for the course (Canvas).
- Report final grades for all students (J1 Web).
- If required, collect assessment data for the course.
- Provide a supportive and engaging learning environment for a diverse student population.
- Support efforts to increase access and success in higher education for underrepresented. students.
- Support the mission, vision, and strategic plan of Indiana Institute of Technology.
Course goals and objectives are set by the dean and are defined in the teaching contract.
Qualifications
- Master’s degree in accounting or related field required with CPA, CMA, or other accounting certification.
- Doctorate in Accounting or related field preferred.
- Previous teaching experience (both face-to-face and in the online environment).
- Strong technological aptitude. Knowledge of Canvas/ Big Blue Button, Microsoft Office.
- Strong history of relational approach in the classroom.
- Five years or more industry experience preferred.
- Professional experience and teaching experience (both face-to-face and online environment) preferred.
Work is normally performed in a typical classroom environment or online as assigned.
