Purpose of Position
This position supports student clinical placement submissions by focusing on the approval of Master of Science in Nursing ( MSN ) clinicals. The role will support the Contracts & Compliance Team, Preceptor Management Team, and MSN Clinical faculty to approve clinical placement of nursing students.
The coordinator is responsible for correct application of credentialing requirements for compact nursing licenses and providing adherence to state operating authority regulations and MSN policies for preceptor submissions.

Purpose of Position
This position supports student clinical placement submissions by focusing on the approval of Master of Science in Nursing ( MSN ) clinicals. The role will support the Contracts & Compliance Team, Preceptor Management Team, and MSN Clinical faculty to approve clinical placement of nursing students.
The coordinator is responsible for correct application of credentialing requirements for compact nursing licenses and providing adherence to state operating authority regulations and MSN policies for preceptor submissions.
Primary Responsibilities
- Collaborates with MSN faculty, Contracts & Compliance Team,
and the Preceptor Management Team to approve clinical placement of
students (approximately 800-1000 each semester) appropriate for the
student’s MSN concentration.
- Reviews and approves/declines preceptor credentials within the
tracking software, Medatrax.
- Compiles and maintains data for reporting and accreditation
purposes to internal and external agencies.
- Maintains tracking of unapproved preceptors and reports them to
clinical faculty and the Director of Clinical Operations &
Outreach.
- Manages student telehealth hours and specialty clinical
rotations appropriate for each MSN concentration.
- Assists all MSN students with questions regarding
self-placements.
- Educates students on using software, Medatrax and answers
questions regarding their preceptor submissions.
- Provides follow up with students new to clinical courses with
Medatrax and provides guidance for self-placement
submissions.
- Holds Q&A sessions for new students for clinical
submissions.
- Provides reports to program directors on the location of
student placements and 5 commonly used preceptors.
- Communicates with students to clarify unique placement
requests.
- Collaborates with Clinical Faculty, Contracts and Compliance, and Preceptor Management Teams to address student concerns.
Bachelor’s degree and a year of relevant work experience required.
- Basic Skills with Microsoft Office suite (excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook), databases, and financial systems
- Ability willingness to learn university and School of Nursing
software, including Medatrax.
- Detail oriented and highly organized
- Ability to stick to tight deadlines and prioritize duties
- Effective interpersonal and communication skills, including
with leadership throughout the college and university
- Self-starter, with ability to consistently follow through on
commitments to their successful completion
- Represent college in a professional manner at all times (via
phone calls, emails, in-person, etc.)
- Maintain confidentiality of student academic and health
records
- Must have excellent oral and written communication skills, problem-solving skills, trustworthiness and the ability to multi-task
