Qualifications:
The Art & Practice of Mathematics is a reflective examination of basic mathematical ideas and patterns. Through participation in the discovery and development of mathematical ideas the student will view the subject as a vehicle for human creativity. The course traces the historical and contemporary role of appropriate mathematical topics. This is a 3 unit undergraduate course.
This course will be taught in person on the Moraga campus during the 2025 Spring term on Mondays and Wednesdays from 1:30 - 2:45 pm.
In addition to teaching, the instructor is expected to hold regular office hours (a minimum of one hour per week) in order to provide students with support outside of the classroom.
The successful candidate will hold an advanced degree in Mathematics or closely related field. Candidates should have a successful record of teaching experience at the undergraduate level. Preference will be given to those who have previously taught the course or Math 010.
Candidates must reside in California.
The salary range for this position is $7,449 - $10,308 (3 units) and is covered by the Collective Bargaining Agreement between the College and SEIU, Local 1021, available here.
