Location
Our Kennesaw campus is located at 1000 Chastain Road NW, Kennesaw, GA 30144. Our Marietta campus is located at 1100 South Marietta Parkway, Marietta, GA 30060.
Department Information
The Department of Technical Communication and Interactive Design offers the Bachelor of Science in Interactive Design (IAD). Housed in the Norman J. Radow College of Humanities and Social Sciences, the IAD program addresses the need for emerging competencies in user interface design and user experience design. Using an interdisciplinary, hands-on approach, the IAD degree develops the technical, theoretical, and creative skills needed to meet the demands of new, digitally-centered careers.
With more than 400 full-time faculty and 8,500 degree-seeking students, the Norman J. Radow College of Humanities and Social Sciences prepares the next generation of leaders in a wide array of fields to meet the challenges of the twenty-first century and become contributing citizens in a global society. The home of three Schools and eight Departments, the College offers more than 80 graduate and undergraduate programs of study in both traditional and interdisciplinary fields. RCHSS provides students experiential learning opportunities to enable them to develop leadership, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills, as well as a strong sense of civic engagement.

Job Summary
Kennesaw State University is now accepting applications for full-time, non-tenure track faculty positions as Lecturer of Interactive Design in the Department of Technical Communication and Interactive Design with a preferred start date of August 2025. These are nine-month contracted positions. These positions are for work to be performed in the state of Georgia. Application date has been updated.
Responsibilities
A commitment to excellence in teaching and service to the university, department and/or discipline is expected of all non-tenure track faculty. The responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Teaching undergraduate courses (e.g., 5 in the Fall semester, 4 in the Spring semester) in a range of classes that might include: prototyping, user interface design, visual design, the Adobe design suite, and/or front-end development. Faculty at KSU teach face-to-face, hybrid, and online courses.
- Service to the Department and the Radow College of Humanities and Social Sciences related committees, the ability to attend events related to the degree, and potential outreach to the local Atlanta professional design community.
Teaching assignments will be based on earned degrees and SACSCOC Faculty Credentials Guidelines.
Required Qualifications
- A minimum of a Master's degree, or the foreign equivalent, in Interactive Design or a closely related discipline is required.
OR
- A minimum of a Master's degree, or the foreign equivalent, in a
non-related discipline with 18 graduate credit hours in the
teaching discipline is required.
Preferred Qualifications
- The ability to teach in two different areas (e.g., prototyping and visual design or user interface design and front-end development).
- Record of past teaching at the undergraduate level.
