Job Description

The Foundations Senior Foundation Accountant and Analyst’s chief objective is to perform financial operations in accordance with established policies and practices including examination, analysis, maintenance, reconciliation, and verification of financial records for the supported Foundations and Alumni Association. Research, analyze and implement accounting pronouncements and other best practices that impact financial processes under the supervision of the Assistant Controller and Director of Accounting/ CFO .

Considerable knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles and practices.

Comprehensive knowledge in using automated financial systems, particularly in report writing and analyzing accounting records.

Considerable knowledge of identifying complex problems and reviewing related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions.

Considerable knowledge of commercial property accounting.

Considerable knowledge of effective customer service and problem-resolution techniques when serving diverse customers.

Effective oral and written communication skills.

Demonstrated ability to apply and adapt accounting principles and methods to a variety of fiscal needs.

Demonstrated ability to assemble, analyze, and research complex financial data and develop a variety of fiscal reports.

Demonstrated ability to reconcile bank accounts, receivables, payables and other financial transactions.

Demonstrated knowledge and experience with reviewing complex financial data and financial transactions for accuracy.

Demonstrated ability to exercise judgment and interpret administrative policies and procedures.

Demonstrated ability to use a variety of PC-based word processing and spreadsheet software such as MS Word and MS Excel to record, reconcile, monitor and report data.

Level and type of experience

Considerable experience in Accounting or a related field.

Considerable experience with review of financial transactions as well as with complex financial data reporting and analysis.

Considerable experience with accounting systems and report writing.

Additional Considerations (supplemental knowledge, skills, abilities, education, experience, licensure, certification)

Extensive knowledge of non-profit organizations and fund accounting.

Considerable knowledge of Yardi Voyager or similar commercial property accounting software.

Advanced Microsoft Excel skills to include pivot tables, lookup functions, and advanced formulas and functions.

CPA or CPA candidate preferred.

Conditions of Employment

This is an open until filled recruitment. This recruitment may close after the five-day required posting period when a suitable pool of applicants has been generated.

Working hours are 8:00am to 5:00pm Monday through Friday. Hybrid/Telework schedule available upon required approval.
