Job Details

Responsibilities include 3 hours per semester of teaching face-to-face and/or online courses, Graduate Coordinator, Master of Arts in Teaching (MAT) Coordinator, and Accreditation/Assessment Coordinator. Administrative duties include reviewing graduate candidate applications specifically MAT candidates, admitting candidates to the MAT alternative teaching program and additional graduate programs, preparing program review proposals and annual reports for state, assisting with the School of Education’s annual report, maintaining the School of Education’s assessment system, overseeing the accreditation process for the unit, and analyzing program and unit data.

Doctorate in education preferred (ABD considered) with specific expertise in teacher education preparation A master’s degree in an education related field with exceptional expertise/experience will be considered at an instructor level.. Demonstrated leadership/administrative qualities and skills; at least three years teaching experience in P-12 public education or higher education; and strengths in organization, technology, data collection, data analysis, and school collaboration. Additional preferred qualifications are expertise in curriculum development/teaching in public schools and higher education; experience with accreditation; aggregation and disaggregation of data; and experience working with the Arkansas Division of Elementary and Secondary Education. Evidence of ability to teach and work with persons from culturally diverse backgrounds; in-depth knowledge of Arkansas and national policies governing education preparation programs; evidence of knowledge in using assessments/data to drive instruction; evidence of knowledge of effective research-based pedagogical strategies; evidence of ability to develop and facilitate collaborative teams; and evidence of expertise in instructional technology and modeling use of instructional technology in teaching.
