Job Details

The Maxwell Becton College of Arts and Sciences Department of Chemistry, Biochemistry and Physics at Fairleigh Dickinson University (FDU) invites applicants for a tenure-track faculty position in biophysics at the Assistant Professor rank beginning August 2022. The successful candidate will be joining a department that is deeply committed to engaging undergraduate students in high-impact educational experiences through teaching, research, and mentoring. The physics program currently exists primarily as a service discipline, offering algebra- and calculus-based introductory sequences to biology, chemistry, math, and computer science majors, as well as several topical general education courses for non-science majors. A physics minor was recently developed, and the department is looking to increase interest among, and research opportunities for, the growing population of biology and biochemistry students through the development of a biophysics minor, with the long-term goal being the creation of a biophysics major.
