Location

Our Kennesaw campus is located at 1000 Chastain Road NW, Kennesaw, GA 30144. Our Marietta campus is located at 1100 South Marietta Parkway, Marietta, GA 30060.

Department Information

The Department of Physics at Kennesaw State University is focused on helping all students achieve their academic and career goals. Faculty are committed to a student focus that is supportive and welcoming and to creating a sense of belonging for all students. The department has 23 full-time faculty members dedicated to student learning, scholarly research, and service to our university, community, and profession. Our program currently serves over 80 majors pursuing a BS degree in Physics with concentrations in General Physics, Electrical Engineering, and Mechanical Engineering. The department has a strong commitment to student success. Our students are active in undergraduate research and student organizations. Our faculty conduct nationally and internationally recognized research in computational optics, materials physics, theoretical and experimental particle physics, and astrophysics. Job Summary

Kennesaw State University is now accepting applications for a full-time, non-tenure track faculty position as Lecturer of Physics in the Department of Physics with a preferred start date of August 2025. This is a nine-month contracted position. This position is for work to be performed in the state of Georgia.

Responsibilities

A commitment to excellence in teaching and service to the university, department and/or discipline is expected of all non-tenure track faculty.
  • Teaching calculus and non-calculus based introductory physics lectures, recitations, and laboratories.
  • Service to the department, college or university related to instruction, pedagogy, and/or student success.

Teaching assignments will be based on earned degrees and SACSCOC Faculty Credentials Guidelines.

Required Qualifications
  • A Master's degree, or the foreign equivalent, in a discipline related to Physics or a closely related discipline.

OR
  • A Master's degree, or the foreign equivalent, in a non-related discipline with 18 graduate credit hours in the teaching discipline.


Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with current evidence-based instructional practices, such as active learning.
  • Experience teaching online or hybrid courses.
  • Record of past teaching at the undergraduate university level.

Background Check
