Position Description
The Department of Engineering Technology at Texas State University (Collin College Campus) is seeking applicants to fill a non-tenure-line position at the rank of Professor, Associate Professor or Assistant Professor of Instruction to teach at the Collin College satellite campus of Texas State University in Electrical Engineering Technology. The Collin College campus is located at the Collin College Technical Campus located in McKinney, Texas. This will be the first of several new positions hired for this program.
The chosen candidate will provide instruction at the undergraduate level in Electrical Engineering Technology. Applicants with expertise in all areas related to electrical engineering technology, electrical engineering, computer engineering or electronics are encouraged to apply, with particular consideration given to candidates with past teaching experience. This position is a non-tenure-line, nine-month faculty of instruction position with a renewable five-year contract subject to annual reappointment review.
Other responsibilities associate with this position may include service to the department and the university including some coordination with the EET program at the San Marcos campus, industry outreach, and general academic and career advising and assistance.
Required Qualifications
For all ranks:
- M.S. degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering
- An undergraduate degree in an engineering discipline from an ABET accredited institution, or a closely related field from a similarly accredited institution
- At least two years of experience beyond an undergraduate degree in designing, building, and testing either analog or digital circuits
- Excellent oral and written English language skills
For the rank of Associate Professor of Instruction, in addition to those required above:
- A demonstrated record of excellent teaching abilities
- A minimum of five years of teaching experience at the university level
For the rank of Professor of Instruction, in addition to those required above
- An earned doctoral degree in electrical engineering or computer engineering, or a closely related field from an accredited institution or international equivalent
- A minimum of 10 years of teaching experience at the university level
- A demonstrated record of leadership or significant contributions in teaching and instructional activities
The successful applicant will be offered the appropriate rank and title based on the established standards of the university and the Department of Engineering Technology.
Preferred Qualifications
- An earned doctoral degree in electrical engineering or computer engineering, or a closely related field from an accredited institution or international equivalent
- Industry experience in management science, analytics, operations research, engineering management, engineering or engineering technology
- Professional certification and/or licensure in a related discipline
- Experience with program accreditation through ABET
