Job Title: Research & Communications Analyst
Reports To: Director of Executive Communications

Job Summary:

The Health Equity Research & Communications Analyst is responsible for providing comprehensive support in the design, implementation, and coordination of research communication to various stakeholders, including medical and scientific professionals, medical associations, government entities, and community entities.

This role will involve conducting literature reviews, staying up to date with the latest scientific cancer research, and assisting the Director of Executive Communications with publications and presentation development. The successful candidate will possess strong analytical skills, excellent organizational abilities, and a commitment to advancing cancer health equity. The ideal candidate will have experience in research coordination, literature review, and scientific writing, preferably in a healthcare or academic setting.

Key Responsibilities:

Research Communications Project Coordination:

● Coordinate and manage health equity research projects, including project planning, timeline management, and ensuring adherence to research protocols.

● Conduct comprehensive literature reviews to support research initiatives and publications.

● Assist the Director of Executive Communications with researching and drafting content for publications, ensuring accuracy and relevance.

● Stay current with the latest scientific cancer research to inform ongoing and future projects, integrating new findings into the research strategy.

● Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including researchers, clinicians, and community partners, to ensure the successful execution of research projects.

● Assist in reviewing and editing grant applications and proposals.

● Maintain and update biosketches.



Data Collection and Analysis:

● Oversee data collection processes, ensuring data integrity and compliance with ethical standards.

● Utilize research-related software (e.g., SPSS, SAS, R, Tableau) to analyze and visualize data and contribute to presentations and publications.

● Conduct qualitative and quantitative data analysis to support research objectives.

● Assist in the preparation of research findings for publication in academic journals and presentations at conferences.



Publication and Presentation Support:

● Assist the Director of Executive Communications in preparing and editing publications, including drafting sections, reviewing content, and ensuring clarity and coherence.

● Research relevant topics to support publications and presentations, providing evidence-based insights and recommendations.

● Develop presentations for conferences, meetings, and public engagements, ensuring they are visually compelling and aligned with the research objectives.

● Assist with the creation of talking points for presentations and public speaking engagements, ensuring they are concise and impactful.

Educational and Outreach Activities:

● Develop educational materials and outreach strategies to disseminate research findings to a broad audience, including healthcare providers, policymakers, and the general public.

● Participate in workshops, seminars, and other educational events to promote health equity and the Cancer Center’s research initiatives.

● Collaborate with the communications team to highlight research successes and health equity initiatives through various media channels.



Administrative Support

● Manage executive level, efficient functioning and administrative/project support for the Executive Communications team as assigned

Qualifications

Minimum Hiring Standards:

● Education: Bachelor’s degree in Public Health, Social or Biological Sciences, Health Administration, or a related field . Master’s in Public Health, Science, or Science Writing preferred.

● Experience, Skills, and Competencies:

o Minimum of 2 to 3 years of experience in research coordination, literature review, health equity, or related areas.

o Experience in a healthcare, research, or academic setting is highly desirable.

o Strong analytical and research skills, with experience in conducting literature reviews.

o Excellent organizational and time-management abilities, with the capability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced working environment.

o Expert p roficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and research-related software (e.g., SPSS, SAS, R, Tableau ).

o Strong writing, editing, and communication skills, both written and verbal.

o Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.

o High level of discretion, professionalism, and confidentiality.
