Job Summary:
The State University of New York (SUNY) Upstate Medical University located in Syracuse, NY, invites applications from investigators with a strong record of research in the field of neuro-oncology. We seek a laboratory-based researcher or physician-scientist to conduct innovative and collaborative research focused on brain cancer. All areas of research will be considered, including cancer neuroscience, immunology, metabolism, genomics/proteomics, tumor senescence, and microenvironment, among others. Preference will be given to candidates with research programs of translational and/or clinical significance.
The successful candidate will join a growing community of neuroscience and oncology investigators with strengths and expertise in genomics, cytoskeleton, tumor microenvironment, biomechanics, cancer molecular and cellular biology, and population studies. Research is supported by state-of-the-art genomics and proteomics facilities, advanced microscopy, and dedicated brain cancer biobanking, among other institutional resources. This tenure-eligible appointment offers a guaranteed salary base, excellent fringe benefits, and a generous start-up package. The recruitment is a joint effort of the departments of Neuroscience & Physiology, Neurosurgery, Neurology, and the SUNY Upstate Cancer Center. Departmental affiliations will be based on the best fit for the successful applicant.
