Building/ Grounds Specialist III (KA15/61122935/ PCLS202400406), full-time position with benefits. SC State Pay Band: 03. Salary range: $27,510.00 (minimum) - $39,207.00 (midpoint). Normal work hours are Monday through Thursday, 6:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., and Friday, 6:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Must be flexible to meet the special scheduling needs of the university.

Duties

Duties include, but are not limited to:

Cleans interior and exterior surfaces, floors, and areas.

Maintains grounds, refuse, recyclables, equipment, and supplies.

Participates in planned, preventative, and unexpected work.

Maintains safe working environment, including responsible practices and risk mitigation.

Performs general trades work.

Qualifications
  • Required : High school diploma or equivalent and a minimum of six (6) months cleaning or grounds experience.
  • Preferred: N/A
  • Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Must understand how to collaborate within a team. Must understand how to mitigate risks and follow safety procedures. Must be able to multi-task, make good decisions, and maintain working relationships. Must have knowledge of custodial, grounds, and maintenance tools, equipment, products, and techniques. Must be able to wear variety of personal protection equipment, including footwear, gloves, mask, eye protection, and other. Must be able to communicate, written and oral, with variety of stakeholders. Must be able to learn, problem-solve, and make safe decisions. Must be able to utilize technology, software, and devices to manage and document work. Must be able to drive a motor vehicle, electric vehicle, and golf cart.
