About the Role:
Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU) University Counseling Services (UCS) invites applications for a Senior Staff Psychologist position. This position will be located at our Monroe Park Campus and primarily provides services to our undergraduate students and graduate students. General duties include initial assessments, brief individual psychotherapy, group psychotherapy, crisis work, trainee supervision, consultation with university faculty and staff, and other duties as assigned. The position requires working some evening hours. We are a dynamic center committed to promoting diversity and inclusion and invite applicants who share similar values.

Required Qualifications:
The successful candidate must have a doctoral degree in clinical psychology or counseling psychology, ABD in psychology is also permitted with expectation of completed degree within one year of hire date. The candidate must also be licensed eligible in the Commonwealth of Virginia and licensed in Virginia within in one year of degree verification. The position also requires excellent communication skills, both oral and written, strong interpersonal skills, and experience with brief psychotherapy. A demonstrated commitment to the highest ethical standards of professional practice, as well as an understanding of and commitment to diversity
issues in the delivery of UCS services is also required.

We seek someone who is collaborative in nature, practices good self-care, and possess the ability to manage a challenging workload while promoting a positive atmosphere and healthy relationships.

University Description
VCU is a public, urban university with just under 30,000 students located on two campuses in the capital city of Richmond, VA. University Counseling Services has an APA-accredited pre- doctoral intern training program. The multidisciplinary staff of UCS includes full-time clinicians from the fields of psychology and social work.
