Assistant Professor of Kinesiology

The Conway Medical Center College of Health and Human Performance, Department of Kinesiology at Coastal Carolina University is accepting applications for a full-time 9-month, tenure-track Assistant Professor position beginning in August 2025. The Department of Kinesiology, which houses the Exercise and Sport Science program, is currently pursuing accreditation through the Council on Accreditation of Strength and Conditioning Education (CASCE). We are seeking a motivated individual committed to undergraduate education, embracing the teacher-scholar model, and providing active learning experiences, particularly through research opportunities.

Candidates must possess an earned Doctorate in Exercise Science/Kinesiology or a highly related discipline by the time of their appointment (ABD considered). Candidates demonstrating strong potential or proven ability in teaching and research in exercise physiology, sports nutrition, strength and conditioning, and sport performance are highly encouraged to apply. However, all candidates with expertise related to exercise and sport science will be considered. In addition, candidates with Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS), Tactical Strength and Conditioning (TSAC), and/or Certified Performance and Sport Scientist (CPSS) certifications are desirable.

Candidates should prioritize providing rich academic experiences to facilitate student success. The highly qualified candidate will be able to teach in classroom and laboratory settings and deliver high-quality instruction in multiple Exercise and Sport Science courses. Specific teaching responsibilities will align with the candidate's expertise and departmental needs.

As a department, we are committed to student success and seek a proficient teacher/scholar who is dedicated to developing a vibrant undergraduate research program. Candidates should be teacher-scholars who will establish a research agenda that includes the mentoring of undergraduate student research assistants.

Additionally, the successful candidate will be expected to engage in service activities that support curriculum development, aid in the successful acquisition and maintenance of CASCE accreditation, contribute to program assessment, and collaborate with related programs at both community and academic levels.
