The Director of Online and Non-Degree Admission is responsible for the implementation of a comprehensive recruitment and enrollment plan for students seeking an online undergraduate degree or non-degree seeking students. As a member of the senior leadership team within the Office of Admission, they will provide insight into new trends relevant to the population type. The director will conduct market research, analyze data, build communication plans and serve as a bridge to other departments during the enrollment process. The director must be energetic, demonstrate initiative and creativity, have a sense of humor, work well independently and in a team while managing multiple responsibilities concurrently.
Supervisory Responsibilities

- Oversee the admissions process from point of prospect development through enrollment for students seeking an online undergraduate degree.
- Develop annual admission plans that are consistent with the mission and strategic plan of the university.
- Review applications and make recommendations for admission decisions.
- Respond with a "sense of urgency" to all questions and/or concerns.
- Create and build relationships with local and professional organizations, high schools, colleges, and universities to identify qualified applicants.
- Research, identify, schedule and conduct in-person and virtual recruitment visits to high schools, college and university fairs, community events, etc.
- Creates, transports, sets up and strikes displays that promote Lenoir-Rhyne and engage prospective students in conversation.
- Build and maintain ongoing contact with prospective students from application to matriculation.
- Collaborate with the Office of Financial Aid in administering federal, institutional and other forms of financial aid.
- Partner with various departments and offices throughout campus to ensure students experience a seamless transition.
- Maximize technology, software and other relevant tools to advance and streamline processes
- Ensure the objectives and overall goals produce desired results.
- Develop and manage a multi-year strategy for student recruitment to include travel planning, application review, counselor communications, virtual visitation and events, and annual budget development.
- Develop in partnership with the leadership team the communication plan for online undergraduate admission.
- Analyze data and the current recruitment landscape to inform decision-making and evaluate current strategy to respond to changing markets and applicant pools.
- Strategize and plan day-to-day workflow to facilitate progression towards desired goals.
- Manage a budget with respect to university goals and guidelines.
- Demonstrate an advanced work ethic and attention to detail.
- Remains up to date on trends in enrollment management through conferences, meetings and publications.
- Possesses excellent verbal and written communication skills across various platforms and in different situations.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to manage sensitive and confidential situations with tact, professionalism, and diplomacy and work with individuals at all levels of the university
- Excellent time management and organizational skills with heightened attention to detail.
- Strong analytical skills and problem-solving/conflict resolutions skills.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, SLATE, Power Campus, and related software.
- A bachelor’s degree is required, a masters degree is preferred
- At least three years of experience in admission is preferred.
- Previous experience with Slate or other student information systems preferred.
- Fluency in Spanish is a plus.
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
- Ability to attend and preside over meetings, events, etc., in person and online.
- Standard office hours Monday-Friday, 8 a.m.-5 p.m.
- Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.
