Events Coordinator for the Curry Student Center
About the Opportunity
JOB SUMMARY:
Reporting to the Senior Technical Operations & Event Manager for the Curry Student Center, the Events Coordinator will be Event Management's secondary liaison for managing events in the Curry Student Center major event spaces. The Event Specialist will perform a variety of front of house and professional support services related to the Curry Student Center Venues, including event planning and production, staff management, and client support.
Please note this position's schedule can be events driven, which requires flexibility with hours/days worked. Availability in the evenings and on weekends is required.
RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
- Support the management of all day-to-day front of house and customer service needs for the Curry Student Center Major events Spaces (Ballroom, McLeod Suites, Indoor Quad, West addition ground/mezzanine, Second Floor Suites)
- Review scheduled use of event space with the Senior Technical Operations & Event Manager and organize details for all events in CSC.
- Be present for major events on the evenings and weekends.
- Work with the Senior Technical Operations & Event Manager to confirm events and reach out to clients regarding future unconfirmed events.
- Support and manage all House Managers, Event Assistants, and Media Service Technicians during events.
- Enforce policies and procedures related to the use of university facilities and maintain the security and safety of the venue for both patrons and event staff.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience in event management and event production for both small and large events
- Customer service and good interpersonal skills are a must, as are supervisory skills and the ability to lead and manage student staff.
- The ability to work in high profile and high-stress situations is needed.
- Experience with Audio Visual in a live event setting (Sound, video, lighting)
