Provides instructional and program design expertise for the development and support of online and blended courses, as well as educational programs. Develops guidelines for best practice in online course design and the use of educational technology. Is responsible for assisting faculty in the design of online courses, both as it relates to educational delivery using the University's learning management system (LMS) and the use of educational, collaborative applications outside the LMS (external applications), while ensuring that online courses and the technology used meet applicable standards and regulations. Guides evaluation of online course and online instruction. Leads faculty development relating to online courses and blended learning in collaboration the Office of Educational Effectiveness and Faculty Development Committee. Researches trends in online education and instructional technology and applies the findings to improvement of the University's course offerings. May be assigned additional tasks in support of the department's mission and goals, such as teaching online.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: * Manage online course development * Collaborate with faculty and content area experts on course design. * Provide assistance to faculty related to course design and production of learning objects. * Select and use a variety of techniques for delivering instructional content. * Supervise production of video, audio, and interactive materials and supervises the management of these resources. * Instruct online faculty and coursewriters in the use of external educational applications. * Lead faculty development sessions relating to online education. * Attend conferences to maintain up-to-date knowledge of instructional design and technology. * Serve on University committees, a needed.
