Position Summary:
The Department of Theatre at Susquehanna seeks a tenure-track Assistant Professor of Theatre in Lighting Design. The successful candidate will teach three courses each semester such as introductory and advanced design courses, a lighting and scenery lab course, Introduction to Theatre, a first-year seminar, and a script analysis course. Co-curricular responsibilities include creation of lighting designs for the department's five-show main stage season or supervision of student designers, execution and implementation of lighting plots with students, and basic maintenance of lighting equipment. Class time is provided for design execution. The successful candidate will be competent in computer-aided drafting and design software, intelligent lighting, and stage electrician skills. Non-required scenic design opportunities would be available if successful candidate is interested.
Required Qualifications:
The MFA in Theatre with a concentration in lighting design is required.
Preferred Qualifications:
Two years of undergraduate teaching and secondary experience in sound design or scenic painting are preferred but not required.
