Salary: $80,000 to $115,000 Annually (salary commensurate with education and experience)
General Statement of Duties:
The Department of Nursing seeks applicants for a full-time, tenure-track Assistant/Associate Professor beginning fall 2025.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Duties include but not limited to:
- Developing and teaching courses in the area of adult health nursing.
- Teaching clinical skills to nursing students in their community/hospital sites.
- Possess experience in caring for adults across the lifespan with a special emphasis on geriatric clients.
- Have expertise in physical assessment and pharmacology.
- Familiarity with using simulation equipment.
- Advising students, service to the university and the department, and professional development.
- Westfield State University is proud to be a teaching university; faculty are encouraged to develop innovative pedagogy for the classroom.
- The teaching load is 24 credits each year, typically 12 credits each semester.
- Candidates are expected to provide excellence in teaching across different modalities including face-to-face, online, and hybrid classes.
- In addition to the development and teaching of undergraduate courses, faculty are expected to engage in scholarly activity, which can take many different forms.
- Faculty provide academic advising and other support to students. Opportunities to advise student research are available and encouraged.
- Faculty are also expected to offer service to the department, university, and community.
Job Requirements:
Required Qualifications:
- Master's Degree In Nursing
- A minimum of three years of recent full-lime experience in adult health nursing and current licensure (or eligibility) in Massachusetts
- Strong clinical skills
Preferred Qualifications:
- A doctorate in nursing or matriculation in a doctoral program
- Teaching experience at the baccalaureate level

Salary:
Salaries for current Westfield State University employees and individuals currently working for the state of Massachusetts must be calculated individually in accordance with collective bargaining agreements as well as state policies.
