Human Resources Business Partner and Director of L&D, Employee Relations and Compliance
The HR Business Partner and HR Director of L&D, ER and Compliance is responsible as partner in two areas:
As HR Business Partner, the professional contributes to the assigned division or department to align support with business objectives and works with the management and employees to ensure HR supports the organization's objectives. The Business partner develops and creates HR and organizational strategies and coaches executives on HR issues. In partnership, the HR partner collaborates with other HR functions to provide value-added services for employees and management. The HR business partner understands the business unit's goals, plans, culture and operations and challenges and contributions to strategic problem-solving thinking.
The Director provides action-oriented, operational, and tactical leadership in the assessment, development, implementation, performance reviews and evaluation of competency areas for attention. The Director oversees processes and programs for organizational capability and talent, definition of competencies, and building a training initiatives. The Director works collaboratively with all levels and areas of the campus community. The Directors also manages all Employee Relations questions and cases and contributes to Compliance and serves as Title IX Deputy.
Duties and Responsibilities
Learning and Development
- Provide consultation on effective performance consulting for both departmental and complex campus wide projects and initiatives.
- Conduct assessment, diagnosis, goal development, role and responsibility clarification, leadership and team development, coaching, design and implementation of process and performance interventions and conflict resolution.
- Design and Source programs for development and management of career development, training, mentoring, and growth.
- Plan, organize , develop training materials and conduct training programs based on training consultation with departments and groups for vital needs
- Coordinating events & Staff Development activities
- Evaluate training effectiveness
- Monitor compliance with training regulations
- Manage Annual Performance Training and Process
- Manage training budget
- Develop, design and implement HR-related communications, especially as it relates to monthly training and HR-related events and resources. This may include producing a monthly HR newsletter for training & wellness offerings; updating the HR website with events and professional development opportunities or drafting or editing strategic HR- related communications to campus.
Employee Relations, Equity, Compliance
- Collaborate closely with campus leaders, HR, departments and project team members to ensure alignment and integration of strategies, projects and programs for successful implementation and results.
- Meet with employees regarding questions and any concerns, conduct investigations for issues raised and collaborate with managing parties to address and solve problems.
- Acting Compliance Officer
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders
- Supervise Student Workers and Consultants
- Co-Instruct courses around organization, such as GUIDE, Lasaillan Encounter Program, participates in Staff Council, Title IX Trainings, Campus Safety trainings.
- Maintain Training Logs and compliance to Legally Obligatory Trainings such as Anti-Harassment, Work Place Violence, Workplace Safety.
- Participation in Staff Councils and Committees
Requirements
Required Qualifications
- 7-10 years of experience in HR, Learning and Development, Employee Relations and Compliance.
- Knowledge of compliance, regulations and HR best practices.
- SHRM or similar certifications.
- Understanding of higher education HR needs for employees and faculty.
Preferred Qualifications
- Excellent oral and written communication
- Strong ability to identify and research problems and recommend and contribute to problems
- Skills in tactfull and diplomatic communication
