Non-Exempt, 195-Day Temporary Position, up to 40 hours per week
Temporary non-regular employment applications are accepted on a continuous basis until the position(s) are filled.
POSITION HIGHLIGHTS:
The Butte College Police Department is dedicated to the people, traditions, and diversity of our college. In order to protect life and property, prevent crime and reduce the fear of crime, we will provide service with understanding, response with compassion, performance with integrity, and law enforcement with vision. Butte College Community Service Officers are non-sworn department members who work with our Police Officers to patrol district property, respond to medical calls, perform parking enforcement, and write incident reports among other duties.
The work schedule may be either 5 days per week, up to 8 hours per day, or 4 days per week, up to 10 hours per day, between the hours of 0700-2300, 7 days a week. The work schedule is dependent upon District need and may include work on weekends, holidays (BCPOA 15.8 (Download PDF reader)), or on-call shifts (BCPOA 15.10 (Download PDF reader)).
REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES:

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Graduation from high school, G.E.D. or the equivalent*; AND
- Three hundred and twenty (320) hours of paid experience in a uniformed public safety position(s) by a law enforcement agency or a school security department. The 320 hours must include public contact, parking enforcement and report writing; AND
- Hold and maintain a valid driver's license throughout duration of employment with the District.
- *High School education equivalency equals four (4) years of full-time paid work experience.
