The University of Southern California, one of the nation’s top research universities, invites applications for tenured and tenure-track positions (Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, Professor) in the Ming Hsieh Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE). in the USC Viterbi School of Engineering. Many of these faculty will be hired as part of USC’s $1 billion Frontiers of Computing initiative, the largest and most comprehensive academic initiative in USC’s history. This initiative has already resulted in the creation of the new USC School of Advanced Computing in the USC Viterbi School, which includes our Ming Hsieh Department of ECE.
While outstanding candidates from all areas of electrical and computer engineering will be considered, candidates with research interests in the following areas are especially encouraged to apply: materials, devices, technologies, circuits, computer architecture, systems, and methods for next generation computing; optics and photonics; quantum information technology; data sciences; signal processing, communications, information theory, and machine learning; robotics, autonomy, and control; bioelectronic systems, wearable, and implantable technologies.

faculty members. The School is home to the Information Sciences

expenditures typically exceed $177 million annually. With 60
tenure-track, 7 research faculty, and 8 teaching faculty, the Ming
Hsieh Department of ECE is one of the nation’s leading centers of
research and education in the field.
The annual base salary range for the faculty ranks in this posting
are:
- Assistant Professor: $120,000 - $145,000
- Associate Professor: $150,000 - $175,000
- Professor: $184,000 - $247,000
