Job Description Summary

The Finance department at Bentley University is seeking applications for the appointment of two tenure-track faculty positions, one at the rank of assistant or associate, and one at the rank of associate or full, to begin July 2025. Depending on accomplishments and qualifications, a short tenure clock may be considered for Associate or Full Professor. We have a strong preference for candidates with ability and willingness to work with colleagues, teaching experience in Finance at both the undergraduate and graduate-level (MBA/MS programs), evidence of ability to publish top-tier research to warrant appointment at the Full or Associate Professor level, and research expertise in topics including behavioral finance, corporate finance, fintech, or asset pricing. Salary is competitive and support is available for summer research, course development, and travel to professional meetings.

The Finance department encourages and values experiential learning and offers an array of courses supporting BS Finance, BS Financial Technology (FinTech) which is offered jointly by the Finance and Computer Information Systems departments, MS Finance (with a STEM designated Financial Analytics Track), and MBA (Finance concentration) degrees at Bentley. The MSF program is highly ranked (fourth among U.S. institutions and forty fourth globally) in the global Masters programs in Finance rankings by Financial Times (https://www.bentley.edu/news/financial-times-ranks-bentleys-masters-finance-degree-4-us). We also offer the Advanced Standing in Finance program (https://www.bentley.edu/academics/undergraduate-programs/advanced-standing-programs) where some of our top students pursue the BS and MS degrees at Bentley. The department actively engages with students outside the classroom through initiatives and support of student organizations including the Bentley Investment Group (https://www.bentley.edu/centers/trading-room/bentley-investment-group), Bentley Sustainable Investment Group (https://smesg6.wixsite.com/bsig), the Lab for Economics, Accounting, and Finance (https://www.bentley.edu/centers/leaf), and the Trading Room (65 seating capacity) at the Hughey Center for Financial Services (https://www.bentley.edu/centers/trading-room) to name a few examples. The Trading Room offers 24 Bloomberg terminals and subscriptions to FactSet, CapIQ, Morningstar Direct, and Financial Trading Systems (FTS). The Finance department provides strong support for faculty research through summer research grants and Bentley’s subscription to a range of financial data including Factset, IBES, ISS databases, Thompson Reuters, CRSP Mutual Fund, Trace, SDC, to name a few, in addition to standard databases such as CRSP and Compustat. Minimum Qualifications:

Candidates should have a doctoral degree in finance or a related field and should be able to demonstrate excellence in teaching and scholarly research.
