Job Details
Drew University is seeking an Adjunct Instructor in the Department of Business to teach our writing intensive Principles of Management course - in person - to approximately (20) twenty undergraduate students. Catalog description appears below. Timing of the course is flexible, but MW 9:00 - 10:15 is desirable timing.
Our semester runs for 14 class weeks from 1/22/25 to 5/6/25 (except Spring Break from 3/8 – 3/16), with final exams scheduled between 5/8 and 5/14. Instructor compensation is $4,500 per course.
Key Responsibilities:
● Teach the course
● Assign and grade homework, papers, and exams
● Hold office hours
● Assign course grades that are a reflection of student ability
● Be passionate about innovative teaching within a liberal arts context in small classes
Required Education and Experience:
● Previous success in teaching
● PhD, DBA, or MBA in Business or related field

Course Description:
BST 210 Principles of Management
Presents major topics in management and provides tools for understanding, analyzing and critiquing the management structures and practices of organizations. Emphasizes contemporary issues in management, including--but not limited to--environmental and social concerns. Students will have the opportunity to learn and apply fundamental concepts from management practice and research through diverse materials such as case studies, movies, podcasts and readings. Class discussions focus on the role of business in shaping the world the role managers play in that process. Assignments encourage teamwork as well as reflective skills. This course is writing intensive.
