Description
The Director oversees and manages all student services within the College of Business and Analytics including: Office of Diversity and Inclusion, Business Placement Center, Recruitment and Retention, and Student Advisement. This position oversees a large staff while also participating as hands-on member of the team. The role is responsible for producing, interpreting, and using data to make informed decisions in the best interest of the students and the college.
The target salary offer for this position is $70,020. Final salary offer will be determined by a thorough assessment of available market data, internal salary equity, candidate experience and qualifications, and budget constraints.
Examples of Duties
• Manage and lead student services operations, including budget and expenditures, staffing, and information infrastructure.
• Run and prepare the data for reporting needs of leadership including items such as enrollment, retentions, yield, comparisons, etc. and any others as needed. Also responsible for AACSB reporting and reporting used internally for strategic decision making.
• Supervise program directors, off-campus coordinators, and administrative staff having duties related to student services.
• Provide leadership in operational execution of the mission of the College as it relates to student services areas and personnel. Ultimately responsible for all areas of student services in relation to University standards and expectations.
• Determine staffing needs in cooperation with appropriate programs and schools.
• Formally recommend hiring and selection, promotion, evaluation and termination of positions related to student services areas. Prepare strategy for HR processes.
• Receive, review, and facilitate resolutions for student or staff complaints.
• Provide general oversight and direction to existing programs.
• Serve on standing ad hoc committees as assigned. Chair College of Business & Analytics scholarship committee and oversee awards where the Dean is the fiscal officer. Administer all CoBA scholarship awards, process scholarship vouchers, and track student awards.
• Define metrics, in conjunction with the vision of the Dean, to measure progress toward advancing a customer service culture within the College.
• Review programs/schools annually and coordinate the development of short-term and long term goals for individual student services areas/programs.
• Lead staff in development, strategy of content for publications, brochures, social media and web pages relating to areas of student services.
• Serve as liaison to SIU college schools and administrative offices.
• Serve as a member of advisory committees and other local, regional, state and national groups pertaining to areas of oversight.
• Participate with the Dean, Associate Dean, directors, and faculty in long-term strategic planning with specific emphasis on growth and development of each area of student services.
• Managing other related projects, duties, and responsibilities as assigned by the Dean of the College.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
-A master's degree in student development, student affairs, higher education, or a business discipline by date of hire.
-A minimum of five years' experience in university or community college settings in student affairs related area(s): recruiting, placement, advisement, enrollment management, retention, or program development for such.
Preferred Qualifications:
-Related experience in an AACSB College of Business & Analytics setting.
-Staff supervision experience in an educational setting.
-Experience in data reporting and analysis.
