Position Summary and Responsibilities
The Office for Accessibility and Educational Opportunity Exam Proctoring Coordinator is responsible for overseeing the administration of testing accommodations for students with disabilities. This role involves coordinating logistics for testing sessions, ensuring compliance with applicable regulations, and providing support to students, faculty, and staff. The Coordinator will work collaboratively with various stakeholders to foster an inclusive and equitable testing environment.

This is a part-time, academic year, 25 hour per week, benefit eligible position.

Responsibilities
  • Schedule, oversee and serve as the primary point of contact for testing accommodations for students with disabilities, including extended time, alternative formats, assistive technology, and specialized equipment. Ensure timely and efficient administration of tests.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality of student records, accommodation needs, and testing materials in accordance with FERPA regulations and institutional policies. Stay informed about best practices in disability services as it relates to testing accommodations.
  • Provide feedback to other administrators within the Office for Accessibility and Educational Opportunity (AEO) on high-need students and potentially necessary modifications to individual testing accommodations based on observations and review of documentation.
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures for the testing environment that align with institutional guidelines and ADA regulations.
  • Collaborate with the AEO team, academic departments, and student services to promote awareness and understanding of accommodations to ensure a smooth testing process.
  • Provide de-escalation support to students experiencing heightened emotional states before, during, and/or after their testing experience.
  • Participate in training sessions for faculty and staff on equitable and consistent accommodation practices.
  • Create a system for tracking communications between professor and the AEO office to maintain consistency across testing experiences; prepare reports and assessments of the testing environment with activities, trends, and student feedback.
  • Train, supervise and support testing staff or proctors to ensure they uphold the accessibility office’s standards, protocols, and practices in accommodating students with disabilities.


Qualifications
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Bachelor’s degree in education, social sciences, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in higher education, disability services, or a related field.
  • Knowledge of disability rights and accessibility regulations (e.g., ADA, Section 504).
  • Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with diverse populations in potentially stressful situations.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and/or Google Suite, and experience with data management systems.

Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Master’s degree preferred.
