Salary Range: $40,000- $46,000 annualized, commensurate with education, experience and qualifications.

Hours: up to 40 hours per week, exempt.

Essential Functions

Job Summary

Coordinates the operation of programs or projects, exercising independent judgment and authority as required. Supports the academic pursuits of all TRIO participants through planning, marketing, providing, documenting, and evaluating virtual and/or on-site programming.

Core Responsibilities
  1. Proposes, evaluates, and coordinates the implementation of programs. Experience in developing and facilitating workshops.
  2. Researches new program ideas; proposes program design, which may include grant development and submission.
  3. Plans, schedules, and coordinates activities in assigned programs and projects.
  4. Ensures program needs are met through resources, planning, tracking, and management, with resources to include talent, supplies, and facilities.
  5. Produces and distributes program materials.
  6. Coordinates marketing and communication for recruitment activities for program.
  7. Evaluates program activities and makes recommendations for changes and enhancements; makes recommendations to ensure program evolves as necessary to continue to serve mission.
  8. Maintains tracking and reporting systems to monitor program/participant progress and results; provides data and progress/status reporting as necessary for program sponsors and other university personnel; creates reports to reflect student progress and program levels; assists in the creation and maintenance of internal controls to protect student confidentiality and program reporting.
  9. Collaborate with Project Director and Lead Retention Specialist in developing and executing the TRIO Summer Academies.
  10. Maintain accurate physical and/or electronic student records.
  11. Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university in Education, Counseling, or a related field.
  • Additional education may substitute for experience on a one for one basis.
  • Two years of experience working with students and/or other groups to plan and coordinate activities and programs.
  • Demonstrates excellent communication and organization skills.
  • Demonstrates proficiency with Microsoft Office suite, Zoom or similar virtual communication platform, and demonstrates the ability to train others in use of such software.
  • Knowledge of personal computers with standard business software and all standard office equipment.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's Degree in a related field.
  • At least one year of experience with TRIO or similar programs.
  • Two years of secondary or postsecondary teaching, advising, and/or counseling, or working with students and/or other groups to plan and coordinate activities and programs.
  • Two years of experience working with a broad student population and applying academic intervention strategies including intrusive monitoring, early outreach, and academic survival techniques.
  • Two years of experience providing case management to secondary school students.
  • Experience with Blumen database.
  • Fluent in Spanish.

Working Conditions
  • Will primarily work at the Northside ISD target schools.
  • Office environment.
  • Works with sensitive information and maintains confidentiality.
  • Works independently with minimal supervision.
  • Some work on evenings and/or weekends are required.

Physical Demands:
  • Sedentary work; sitting most of the time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required, only occasionally.
  • Exerts up to 10 lbs. of force occasionally.

This position will be primarily located on campus. Travel and parking expenses are the employee's responsibility.
