JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY

Worcester Polytechnic Institute invites applications for the position of Adjunct Teaching Professor. The University welcomes culturally and academically diverse faculty of the highest caliber, skilled in the scholarship of teaching, discovery, application and integration of knowledge.

Worcester Polytechnic Institute is seeking part time adjunct faculty to teach day and/or evening classes for our Corporate and Professional Education Department. Part-time faculty positions are created to provide an available applicant pool for the department. Positions will be filled on an as needed basis. Start dates will vary by course and semester.

JOB DESCRIPTION

Adjunct Teaching Professor will potentially develop and teach graduate courses off campus in a corporate setting and online. Specific topics of interest include:

  • Wireless communication, to include signal detection and estimation,
  • Information theory
  • digital communications
  • software defined radio (SDR)
  • spectrum sensing and cognitive radio (CR)
  • cryptography and data security
  • machine learning and artificial intelligence in cybersecurity
  • blockchain and cryptocurrencies


Knowledge of wireless network cyber security vulnerabilities and defense is also of interest.

Ideal applicant will hold an advance degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline with significant practical experience in the relevant area, as well as having successful graduate teaching experience. Abilities to teach in other areas is also valued.
