The Center for Information Technology Services (CITS) has an exciting opportunity available for a Business Intelligence Report Writer for Data Analytics and Reporting.

The selected candidate will be part of the newly formed data analytics and reporting office, and primarily responsible for developing reports and expanding UMB’s enterprise data, analytics, and reporting platform. This individual supports and maintains the Quantum Analytics reporting application. The selected candidate will have the opportunity to learn the Oracle Analytics Cloud platform for developing reports and analytics components. This position will support the university’s effort to document data definitions and reports using a cloud-based data documentation system (Datacookbook.com). Other duties include supporting data quality efforts to test reports and data. We are looking for a highly creative individual that is eager to learn and possesses a good work ethic.

The Report Writer will design, develop, fix, test, and assist in the implementation of functional aspects of reports. The position will receive guidance as needed to become proficient in the requisite duties. This position will troubleshoot, resolve issues, and escalate complex matters to the appropriate team members.

Primary Duties:
  • Design, develop, fix, test, and assist in the implementation of functional aspects of reports.
  • Translate business requirements into specifications to implement reporting solutions that enable data-driven management practices.
  • Assist in the configuration, development, and coordination of dashboards and reports created from multiple data sources to support decision making and planning at all levels of the university.
  • Troubleshoot, resolve issues, and escalate complex matters to the appropriate team members.
  • Assist with documenting data elements, report specifications, and report implementations.
  • Escalate complex matters to the appropriate team members.
  • Create and execute test plans. Evaluates results and documents new features for report enhancements.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications :

Minimum Qualifications

Education: Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, Accounting, Business, Finance or a related field.

Experience : Related experience working with applications and/or using data analysis including extracting, converting, and transforming data from applications is preferred.

Other: Four (4) years of related experience made of a combination of formal information systems & enterprise application development education/training and/or enterprise application development working with enterprise applications (PeopleSoft, Oracle Cloud Fusion, Oracle E Business Suite, etc.) using data analysis including extracting, converting, and transforming data from enterprise applications and loading data into a data warehouse, and business intelligence tools for data modeling may be substituted for education. General knowledge and understanding of SQL and database technology.

Hiring Range: $62,000- $70,813, commensurate with education and experience.
