The Hubbard Center Outreach and Communications Manager in the division of Academic Affairs plays a vital role in the success of the Center, the division and the institution.
The Hubbard Center Outreach and Communications Manager contributes to the development and education of students in pursuit of career information, self-evaluation, experiential learning opportunities, and post-graduate opportunities. This position also contributes to program planning and development, and presentations which are vital to the success of DePauw University’s students. Excellent communication skills and organizational skills are required as this person must be able to generate the interest and participation of students. Finally, this position must be able to anticipate project needs, discern work priorities, provide outstanding customer service, and be an enthusiastic professional able to build relationships with constituents, including alumni, employers, parents, students, staff and faculty.

Employer Relations Communication and Outreach
Education: Bachelor's Degree in any field including but not limited to human resources, counseling, recruiting, communication or education.
Experience: Minimum of 2 years current and relevant experience preferred.
Communication/Language Skills: Intermediate: Ability to read and interpret documents. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of an organization.
Quantitative Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
Computer Skills: Google Applications, Microsoft Office, Social Media

Essential Functions Statement(s):
Employer Relations Communication and Outreach
- Conduct outreach to current and potential employers in order to
broaden and deepen participation in on-campus and virtual
programming designed to offer students career opportunities,
internships and networking connections
- Interface with external corporate and nonprofit entities;
orchestrating on-campus corporate and nonprofit visits
- Plan and execute virtual and in-person Career and Internship
Fair(s), employer workshops, tabling and interviews
- Perform outreach by following up on employment and internship
leads via networking, connecting through social media, LinkedIn
platforms and alumni connections
- Coordinate contacts between employers, alumni, students,
faculty, staff and the University
- Work with other Hubbard Center staff in assisting employers
with Handshake access and utilization
- Mine information to determine possible contacts beneficial to
DePauw University students related to careers and internships
- Track employer and alumni contacts, coordinating with other
faculty and staff if appropriate, and develop appropriate
steps
- Maintain and grow the Alumni Mentor Program (AMP)
- Oversee all student communication related to Employer Relations
programming such as, but not limited to, emails, social media, and
collateral materials
- This position will also be responsible for creating,
communicating, compiling and reporting of the first-destination
survey information.
- Advise students as needed for alumni and employer
communications and networking
- Other duties as assigned
- Assist with follow up of students and employers during Extended
Studies internships.
- Participate in the Summer Internship Grant review process
- Manage the Parker-Dewey/IEDC/DePauw micro-internship
relationship
- Support the Green and Gold Greencastle community internship
program
- Implements all student communication from the Hubbard Center,
including social media and website updates
- Oversees work-study or ITAP students involved in social media
production
- Oversees all student communication related to Hubbard Center
programming such as, but not limited to, emails, social media,
collateral materials and display monitors
- Designs and updates the Hubbard Center career resources and
education resources including video instruction and alumni career
insights
- Serve as main liaison for the Deans of the Creative School,
School of Business and Leadership and College of Liberal Arts and
Sciences concerning employer relations contacts and connections for
jobs and internships.
- Work with the Dean’s to establish, maintain and grow
relationships with employers and alumni who wish to engage with
DePauw students
