General Summary
Envision, direct, coordinate, and supervise all aspects of the Way Forward@EMU program, centered on developing high school youth educators to increase awareness and prevention of traumatic brain injury to K-12 age youth, families, and communities.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
• Direct and manage all program components, including the Youth
Health Educator (YHE) certification process, and associated
personnel of Way Forward@EMU.
• Develop and implement strategic planning for the Way Forward@EMU,
and ensure operational success.
• Develop, manage, and execute the Way Forward@ EMU budget,
ensuring compliance with approved budget parameters; review and
approve expenditures for equipment, supplies, and materials
necessary to implement program and services.
• Manage workshop and outreach presentations on pediatric traumatic
brain injury (TBI).
• Coordinate community and university partnerships to promote Way
Forward@EMU.
• Working with University offices, personnel, and the community,
manage the design, structure, and implementation of the YHE
certification process and overall direction for YHEs:
-Work with Engage@EMU programs and community organizations to
identify community YHEs.
-Hire and promote YHEs.
-Envision and manage the YHE presentations and workshops.
• Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of the program through
evaluation and dissemination.
Minimum Qualifications:
A master's degree is required.
A minimum of 2 years of progressively more responsible experience
in project management and/or program design within higher education
and/or K-12 is required.
Preferred Qualifications:
Graduate degree in social work, education, or public health is preferred.
