The Women’s and Gender Studies Department in the Bellarmine College of Liberal Arts at Loyola Marymount University seeks candidates for a tenure track faculty position at the Assistant Professor level beginning Fall semester 2022. We seek a scholar with expertise in critical race feminisms with an emphasis in one or more of the following fields: abolitionism, international political economy, and/or feminist legal theory. The applicant would be expected to teach introduction level courses in Women’s and Gender Studies as well as upper division courses in the applicant’s area of expertise. We welcome teacher-scholars with doctoral degrees in Women’s and Gender Studies, Ethnic Studies, or other cognate interdisciplinary fields; candidates with PhDs in other social science and humanities disciplines with designated emphases in the areas outlined above will also be considered. The PhD is required; however, ABD applicants who anticipate completion of the doctorate by Fall 2022 will also be considered.

The Department places a high priority on diversity, social justice, and inclusive pedagogy in fostering academic excellence. Candidates must show promise in both research and teaching. Interested applicants are invited to submit application materials to Tenure Line Women and Gender Studies (myworkdayjobs.com). Applicants must include: a cover letter addressing research and teaching experience, curriculum vitae, a writing sample. Three letters of recommendation must be submitted separately to wgst@lmu.edu. Only online applications will be accepted. Please direct questions to sina.kramer@lmu.edu. We will begin our review of applications on October 15, 2021.
