Job Description:

The Western Kentucky University Psychology Department (www.wku.edu/psychology/) is seeking qualified applicants for one tenure-track position in Clinical Psychology. This position will serve as Director of the Doctor of Psychology (PsyD) in Applied Psychology Program, which accepted its first class in the Fall of 2015. One focus of the program is training supervisors. Candidates should have a minimum of five years' experience in a tenure track faculty line and possess a doctorate in Clinical Psychology. In addition to the PsyD program, the Department of Psychology has an undergraduate major in psychology, a Master's program in clinical psychology, and a NASP-approved Specialist in Education program in school psychology.

Additional responsibilities for the position include: teaching graduate and undergraduate coursework (with primary teaching duties within the PsyD program); conducting scholarly research and publishing; advising graduate and undergraduate students; guiding dissertation and thesis research as well as serving on dissertation and thesis committees; and collaborating with area agencies. Collaboration with other faculty in the administrative oversight and clinical training of doctoral students in our on-campus clinic is also expected. There will be the opportunity to participate in the development and APA accreditation of the PsyD program. Additional responsibilities include serving on program, department, college and university committees, and other duties as assigned. This position includes a summer stipend and two course releases.

Requirements:

Applicants must have an earned doctorate in Clinical Psychology and should have faculty experience commensurate in a tenure track line. Candidates must be licensed or license-eligible and are expected to obtain licensure from the Kentucky Board of Psychology at the Health Service Provider level. Applicants must demonstrate strong leadership skills, are expected to have achieved excellence in teaching, and have an active and productive program of scholarly research.
