POSITION: TENURE TRACK FACULTY IN DATA SCIENCE & BUSINESS ANALYTICS


LOCATION: FINANCE

JOB SUMMARY: The Department of Finance at New Jersey City University (NJCU) invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position in Data Science and Business Analytics. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching data science and business analytics courses at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. Preference will be given to candidates with the ability to also teach Information Systems (IS) courses. In addition to teaching responsibilities, the candidate is expected to engage in active research and contribute to departmental, college, and university service.

RESPONSIBILITIES :

· Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in data science, business analytics, and, ideally, information systems.

· Develop course syllabi, lectures, assignments, and assessments in alignment with departmental standards.

· Foster a supportive and engaging learning environment that promotes critical thinking and real-world application of theoretical concepts.

· Develop an active and productive research agenda, including seeking external funding opportunities.

· Engage in service to the department, university, and the academic community.

· Advise and mentor students, particularly those from historically underserved communities.

EDUCATION: Ph.D. in Data Science, Business Analytics, Information Systems, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a closely related field. ABD candidates nearing completion will be considered.



QUALIFICATIONS :

· Demonstrated potential for high-quality teaching and research.

· Prior teaching experience at the university level preferred.

· Experience with or commitment to engaging a diverse student body, with an emphasis on student success for Hispanic and other underrepresented groups.
