Assistant Professor- Problem Based Learning, Sewell Campus (SOM)

Responsibilities include working with faculty to develop new courses, participating in departmental/school-wide committees and maintaining office hours. Individuals that thrive in a collaborative, interdisciplinary environment are encouraged to apply. Excellent organizational and communication skills are required and experience with learning management systems (Blackboard, Canvas, etc.) and/or ExamSoft is desired. Preference will be given to those with content expertise in Biochemistry, Histology and/or Microbiology as well as the problem based learning format.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Deliver lectures as assigned
  • Facilitate virtual laboratory activities
  • Participate in problem based learning activities as assigned
  • Write exam items, proctor and grade exams
  • Provide support for administration of courses on the learning management system
  • Develop and deliver new courses as assigned
  • Serve on departmental/school-wide committees as assigned
  • Maintain office hours to provide student tutoring
  • Other duties as assigned


Educational Requirements:

Master’s or Doctoral (preferred) in a related science field from an accredited university. Rank will be commensurate with experience.

Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the US, and the university will not sponsor an applicant for a work visa for this position.
