University Enterprises Corporation at CSUSB ("UEC") supports the university's educational mission by providing quality services that complement the instructional program. The University depends upon UEC to provide services that cannot be supported with state funds. We're responsible for business enterprises on campus including, but not limited to, dining, bookstore, convenience store, and vending services. We also serve as the grantee for federal, state, and local funding for research and sponsored projects.
Position Summary
Temporary, Non-Exempt, Full Time, Benefited position through 6-30-2025 (Appointment may be renewed annually based upon availability of funds, availability of work and satisfactory job performance).
Salary: $3,052.00-$5,668.00 per month.
Location: Victorville CSRI.
Work Schedule
40 hours per week. 8:45AM-5:15PM, Monday-Friday (with some evenings and Saturdays required).
First Review Deadline
This position will remain open until filled.
Typical Activities
Under minimal supervision of the Center Manager, the Job Developer will work independently to:
- Conduct individualized employment-readiness assessments and create individual employment plans for each assigned client;
- Document clients' progress in the organization database;
- Collect employment data, research employment retention, and publish internal reports with said information;
- Conduct job preparation, job retention and financial literacy classes;
- Participate in community events; network with community agencies and members for employment and training opportunities; establish and oversee job preparation and computer skills training resources;
- Provide appropriate referrals for clients; arrange for client placement in vocational and educational training.
- The incumbent may also be required to provide receptionist and clerical duties, as well as providing general customer service to all who enter the facility.
- Some travel required.
- Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- Education & Experience:
- 1. Bachelor's Degree AND One year experience as a job developer or similar position. OR
- 2. High School Diploma AND Four years' experience as a job developer or similar position.
- Other:
- Applicants must be self-starters and have the ability to work both independently and as team members.
- Applicants must possess excellent oral and written communication skills as well as the ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with employers, staff and students.
- Applicants must possess the ability to handle confidential and sensitive information along with the ability to work cooperatively with diverse groups of people.
- Applicants must possess a working knowledge of correct English grammar, spelling, and punctuation, to be able to write clear and concise reports and express ideas and recommendations orally.
- Applicants must have proficiency in using standard office software such as Microsoft, Word, Excel, Access, video conferencing, email and internet programs.
- Preferred Qualifications
- Applicants having employment placement experience and/or resources within the community is desired.
