Job Description Summary:
Under the general supervision of the Director of Financial Aid, facilitates the financial aid process by providing counseling and related assistance to new and returning students, parents, and scholarship applicants concerning program requirements, state and federal guidelines, and eligibility determination.
Furthermore, the person in this role ensures that student aid programs are implemented efficiently through the effective supervision and monitoring of Federal, State, and College funded programs, and exercises independent judgment in analyzing circumstances in order to develop and award student financial aid packages in accordance with prescribed procedures, policies, and regulations.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Financial aid counseling and review of students and parent electronic files (45%).
- Review and update of periodic reports and or assignments to resolve detailed governmental requirements (20%).
- Contact multiple audiences by text, email, phone call and other means in order to facilitate the enrollment and retention of students (10%).
- Give presentations to prospective students, admitted students and other audiences in person and/or by online means (5%).
- Participation in professional development activities, conferences, volunteering and webinars (5%).
- Research and periodic review of association and government publications, guidance, regulations and statutes (5%).
- University committee work as assigned (5%).
- Other duties as assigned (5%).
- Basic understanding of Federal Methodology and Federal /State financial aid programs.
- Ability to interact positively and effectively with college staff, faculty, residents, students, medical center employees, vendors, guests, prospective applicants, and their families, medical center visitors, and others.
- Ability to work with people of diverse cultures and backgrounds.
- Ability to work independently while participating as a team player.
- Data entry skills and knowledge of and experience with Windows environment, spreadsheet, and word processing software.
- Ability to demonstrate professionalism and sensitivity at all times.
- Excellent analytical, customer service, time management and organizational skills.
- Experience with PowerFaids desirable .
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience.
- Professional experience in financial aid (preferred).

Hourly wage range: $23.21 ~ $30.17

Individual compensation will ultimately be determined based on a variety of relevant factors including but-not limited to qualifications, geographic location, and other relevant skills.
