The Department of Physics at North Carolina A&T State University, College of Science and Technology, invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position starting in August 2025. The ideal candidate will develop and maintain a vigorous research program in one of the three fields: soft matter physics, semiconductor physics, or quantum as applied to optics or computing. The appointment is expected to be at the assistant professor level, but exceptionally qualified applicants might be considered for a higher rank. The successful candidate is expected to involve undergraduate and graduate students in active research and contribute to the growth of the PhD Program in Applied Science and Technology.
The hired faculty is also expected to show commitment to teaching excellence and service. She/he is expected to teach Physics courses both at the graduate and undergraduate level, develop courses and curricula, direct students in research, and provide service to the University and community.
The Physics Department is undergoing a strategic realignment. A candidate whose teaching and research efforts will complement or create synergy with existing faculty members and promote the mission of the Physics Department and the strategic vision of the College of Science and Technology (CoST) as well as the University is highly desired.
