SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES

The Transfer Outreach Coordinator plays a pivotal role in shaping Schreiner University’s future by welcoming transfer students who enrich our campus with their diverse experiences and perspectives. This role combines strategic outreach with dynamic recruitment efforts to engage and support transfer students throughout their journey to Schreiner.

The primary focus is to develop and strengthen institutional relationships and design targeted outreach strategies that inspire transfer students to take the next step in their academic journey. The successful candidate will possess an understanding of the unique needs of transfer students, especially those from underrepresented backgrounds, including STEM fields, and will collaborate with multiple stakeholders to create and implement effective outreach strategies.

In this role, you will focus on converting inquiries into applications, converting admitted students into enrolled students, and ensuring consistent communication and follow-up with potential enrollees. By fostering strong partnerships with community colleges and personalizing outreach efforts, you will help create an inclusive academic environment where transfer students can thrive at Schreiner University.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive strategy to maintain and enhance relationships with community colleges and other partner organizations, facilitating collaboration and promoting Schreiner University's programs.
  • Help students through the recruitment process, by focusing on inquiry-to-application conversion, admitted student conversion, and follow-up with potential students.
  • Design, implement, and assess engagement initiatives aimed at promoting academic success and increasing transfer student retention, to include virtual and in-person events at community college campuses and fairs.
  • Collaborate with community college partners to execute outreach strategies, including presentations, workshops, college fairs and events, that inspire and encourage students to consider transferring to Schreiner University.
  • Act as a liaison between partner institutions, staff, faculty, and students to ensure effective communication and collaboration.
  • Collect, analyze, and report relevant data to inform future strategies and initiatives.
  • Engage with potential transfer students, providing information on available programs and fostering relationships with transfer advisors.
  • Continuously assess and improve outreach efforts by collecting, analyzing, and reporting on relevant data to inform future strategies and initiatives.
  • Participate in admission staff meetings, town hall meetings, and on-campus admission events that involve transfer students.

OTHER DUTIES AS ASSIGNED AND EXPECTATIONS

  • Support the objectives of the HSI STEM grant and the admissions office, working cooperatively with the grant and admissions teams.
  • Other duties as assigned by your supervisors.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS REQUIRED

  • Bachelor’s degree, Master’s degree preferred.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in higher education, admissions, outreach, or a related field.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of and commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.
  • Excellent writing, research, and presentation communication skills.
  • Strong computer skills required. Must be able to use the Internet, and Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, Calendar).
  • Demonstrated proficiency in utilizing a customer relationship management (CRM) system.
  • Strong interpersonal communication and presentation skills.
  • Experience in program development, implementation, and assessment with a focus on student success and engagement.
  • Self-motivated and able to work both independently and collaboratively.
  • Bilingual (English & Spanish) applicants are encouraged to apply.
