Position Summary

DESCRIPTION :
This position helps maintain administrative systems relating to student and course data and supports decision-making relating to student satisfaction of degree requirements. Works regularly with faculty and administrative offices across campus.

OUTCOMES :
  • To assist in providing accurate and efficient registration services for all students.
  • To assist in providing accurate and efficient back-office systems for managing student and course data to support operations and decision-making.
Essential Functions

Veterans Affairs Compliance: 50%
  • Serves as College certifying official to Veterans Administration and provides broad based assistance to veterans on educational concerns. Responsible for maintaining files on all veterans eligible for VA Educational Assistance and submitting proper documentation on appropriate forms to Regional Processing Centers.
  • Maintains statistical records relevant to enrollment, curriculum, etc. Provides auxiliary support and assistance to individuals preparing federal and state mandated reports.
  • Provides prompt, accurate and efficient customer service to members of the campus community including students, faculty, staff, administration and external agencies as required.
Student Planning: 40%
  • Work with Academic Affairs, advising, IT, and other offices as appropriate to improve alignment of academic catalog, degree planning, and degree audit systems in order to improve student service and decisions systems.
  • Manage updates and operational management of data systems for academic catalog, degree planning, and degree audit (currently Modern Campus, Starfish’s Degree Planner, and Banner’s CAPP)
  • Implement and update all aspects of the Starfish Degree Planner including curriculum changes, adding new programs, troubleshooting issues, editing requirements based on catalog year and thorough testing of each area on a regular basis.
  • Work directly with faculty, chairs, deans, and Academic Affairs administration to ensure that student records adequately reflect their satisfaction of degree requirements.
  • Train faculty on processes for submitting requests to substitute or waive requirements for particular students.
  • Support Registrar with maintenance of Banner Student module.
  • Facilitate, coordinate and support creation of summer academic and course schedules in cooperation with Academic Affairs and schools.
Other Duties: 10%
  • Assist with front office functions as necessary, including occasional management of front office staff.
  • Lead Banner Student Registration module system, upgrades, testing, training and implementation. Provide feedback, functionality and interfaces with other offices.
  • Update annually the fees in the registration module to work in conjunction with the Accounts Receivable Office.
Experience and Education Required
  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • A minimum of three years’ experience in higher education administration
  • Experience with Starfish and Banner computer systems preferred

  • Strong detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to prioritize and handle several tasks at the same time and conform to deadlines
