Participating in the educational task of Dordt University is to be understood as a calling. When disciples of Christ hear and accept God’s call to participate in the task of Dordt University, they occupy a variety of offices. Participating in the work of development and sharing insight is not merely an occupation or a means to gain financial security or self-esteem, but a task to which God calls us. When this sense of office consciousness is lost, we lose the essential meaning of our work. Therefore, Dordt University seeks to develop and foster an atmosphere where all office-bearers can flourish in fulfilling the calling of their office (from the Educational Task of Dordt University found at: https://www.dordt.edu/about-dordt/publications/educational-task-and-framework ).

Company

 Dordt University

Dordt is a private institution of higher education, committed to the Reformed Christian perspective. Located in the heart of the Midwest in the thriving community of Sioux Center, Iowa, Dordt seeks to provide a holistic learning experience for our students, in which they can develop Christian insight to discern and challenge the worldviews of our age in light of God's Word from a Reformed perspective.

With more than 300 employees—including faculty, staff, coaches, and adjunct faculty—Dordt enjoys a great spirit of collaboration and community in which all are committed to helping our students grow through the integration of faith and learning opportunities.

Associated with the Christian Reformed Church, Dordt College was founded in 1955 in Sioux Center, Iowa and welcomes all students who are interested in a biblical, Christ-centered education. Today, as an accredited Christian liberal arts university, we're on a mission to cultivate the next generation of servant-leaders, who will saturate their relationships and communities with the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

Dordt takes its Reformed Christian perspective seriously at all levels of faculty hiring, development, and performance review. Applicants must demonstrate a Christian faith commitment in agreement with Scripture and the basic tenets of the Reformed faith; they must also articulate how their Christian convictions are reflected in their teaching and scholarship. Dordt faculty members continually work to develop and communicate their understanding of how their Reformed worldview influences how they approach their discipline and their task as educator and scholars.
