Description
Clemson University Libraries seeks qualified individuals to fill time-limited librarian and archivist roles on an as needed basis. These positions offer opportunities to contribute to the Libraries' mission of providing excellent information services and resources to the campus community. Time-limited opportunities occasionally arise in The Libraries and highly qualified candidates may be used to fill roles in any of the three divisions: collections and discovery (C&D), teaching, learning and research (TLR) and organizational performance and administration (OPA). Areas of expertise can include:
- Cataloging and metadata
- Subject liaison services
- Open access and open science
- Digital scholarship
- Collection development
Locations of positions could include Cooper Library, The Library Depot, and Strom Thurmond Institute.
Please note: This posting is not for a specific role but is for librarian or archivist opportunities as they become available.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications for all time-limited faculty roles are an ALA accredited Library Science degree or closely related graduate degree.

- Letter of interest that details content expertise aligned with a departmental program area, experience teaching in one or more modalities, and information about teaching availability (terms available, start date available, number of courses available to teach each term with four as maximum)
- Resume or curriculum vita
Applications will be received and reviewed on an ongoing basis by Library Leadership. The department chair or program coordinator will contact applicants with additional questions or needs if required. These time-limited positions will be filled only on an as needed basis. All applicants will remain in the pool indefinitely unless they request to have their application removed from the pool.
