About the Opportunity
Northeastern University's Department of Electrical & Computer Engineering seeks outstanding candidates for the position of Assistant/Associate/Full teaching professor with a focus on Computer Engineering. This is a full-time, benefits-eligible, non-tenure-track position. Appointments are made on an annual 8-month basis, with salary commensurate with experience.
Responsibilities:
The position of Assistant/Associate/Full Teaching professor entails educational interaction with students in roles including, but not limited to, traditional instruction (lecture courses, lab courses), curriculum development, and student advising. The main responsibility of this position is teaching Computer Engineering classes. The annual teaching course load is six courses, with the potential for teaching more than one section of a course in the same semester, over Fall and Spring semesters. Courses may be at both the undergraduate and graduate levels.
Assistant/Associate/Full teaching professors are also encouraged to pursue scholarly research on both educational and pedagogical topics as well as in their technical area of expertise, and they will have the opportunity to supervise graduate students.
A PhD in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Computer Science with teaching experience, is required by appointment start date.
Candidates should have experience with a range of Computer Engineering subareas, which may include computer programming, algorithm design, digital logic design and computer architecture. At least 2 years' experience in teaching at the college/university level is recommended. Excellent written and oral communication skills are required.

A more developed and substantial plan is expected for senior candidates.
Teaching Statement & Philosophy: Statement of Teaching Interests & Philosophy: Please summarize your past instructional and mentorship expertise, your pedagogical philosophy, your plans/goals for teaching (including existing and proposed courses), and your strategies for teaching and mentoring a diverse cohort of undergraduate and graduate students. Include a section discussing educational scholarship that you would conduct as part of your efforts in instruction and/or working with students.
