About the Opportunity
Job Summary:
Microfluidic Engineer/Scientist postdoc
We are currently seeking a self-driven Microfluidics Engineer who can join our R&D team at Northeastern University. The successful candidate should demonstrate a strong willingness to learn and good potential for leadership roles in the future.
- Design and prototype microfluidic flow cells and fluidics systems for nanoparticle size-selective continuous separation using a variety of mechanisms.
- Conceive, design, and model (using CFD) fluidic testbeds to develop and optimize different design concepts of microfluidic systems for particle separation using particle properties such as size, density, surface, and electric properties.
- Fabricate microfluidic test beds to develop and optimize the modeled concepts.
- Design and execute experiments to separate, collect, and verify nanoparticle size selection.
- Investigate the effectiveness of particle-sorting techniques using active and passive separation mechanisms for the particles of interest.
- Aggregate experimental data using various software tools and present their summary at the internal meetings.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Ph.D. in Physics, Engineering, Bioengineering, or a related field
- Strong quantitative analysis, troubleshooting, and statistical analysis skills
- Working knowledge of Labview, Matlab, or equivalent programming/scripting languages for data analysis
- Ability to work well in teams and across disciplines

- Ability to manage and balance multiple projects in a dynamic environment
- Effective verbal and written communication
- Goal-oriented team player with a good work ethic
- Scientific enthusiasm and integrity
